Frequently asked questions

Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions you may have. If you still can’t find the answer you’re looking for, just contact us!

Check-in at Work (CIAW) is a mandatory attendance registration system implemented by the National Social Security Office (NSSO) to strengthen the fight against social fraud. Reporting work or Check-in at Work is mandatory for certain activities involving immovable property, the delivery of ready-mix concrete, and specific activities within the meat sector.

Daily attendance registration is mandatory for specific construction activities that exceed the threshold amount of €500,000 (excluding VAT), the delivery of ready-mix concrete, and activities related to the meat sector. These activities include, among others, meat preparation, slaughtering, and cutting of animals in FAVV-recognized establishments. The Check-in at Work app is the simplest way to comply with daily attendance registration for employees, subcontractors, and self-employed subcontractors.

Since April 1, 2014, it has been mandatory to perform attendance registration according to Article 30 bis of the Act of June 27, 1969, on social security. The 2012 legislative change stipulated that specific activities such as the delivery of ready-mix concrete, certain construction activities, and activities related to the meat sector must comply with this legislation. The same legislation also specifies threshold amounts, which have been set at €500,000 (excluding VAT) since February 29, 2016.

Suivo offers three different methods to comply with the mandatory attendance registration:

The first is the Check-in at Work app, which allows you to meet legal requirements with just a few clicks. This identification method is ideal for companies that involve many third parties, such as architects, subcontractors, and foreign workers.

A second option is to register via a mobile site pole, a method particularly suitable for larger sites with few access points. This pole is also very user-friendly, as it allows easy registration with a Belgian ID card. Additionally, there are other identification options available (such as the Constructive Badge, I-Button, etc.).

A final option is limited to the vehicle. With a black box, one can register before entering the site using a chosen identification method (ID card, I-Button, etc.). There are also other potential uses for these black boxes, such as tracking your fleet and assigning mobility allowances.

According to Article 30 bis of the law of June 27, 1969, concerning social security, anyone performing work on a site where the total cost is equal to or exceeds the threshold amount of €500,000 is subject to Check-in at Work. Not only the construction sector is subject to this specific legislation, but also activities related to the meat sector are subject to this legislation

Certainly! Integrating your time and attendance registration with your payroll service provider is the right move to optimize your workflow. It also saves you a lot of time and, ultimately, money.
