Unfortunately, no Track & Trace solution can completely prevent theft. However, if the location of an asset is accurately presented in real-time, the likelihood of it being stolen decreases. Additionally, you can receive alerts when the asset moves out of a designated area.

A track-and-trace system is a technology that allows you to optimise and track the location and status of objects, such as vehicles, tools or employees, in real-time. The system uses GPS or other tracking technologies to collect data and transmit it to a central application or platform, where you can view and manage this information. This gives you insight into where your objects are, their route, any anomalies and trouble alerts.
By using vehicle telematics and data analysis, you can make drivers aware of their driving behavior (e.g. speeding, fast acceleration, hard braking) and inform them about unnecessary idling, to reduce fuel consumption.

Until today, there is no legislative framework on the use of Track & Trace systems in Belgium. However, employers must comply with the [General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)]. Here, it is important that consultation with employees takes place and that the employer has a legitimate interest in using a Track & Trace system. If the vehicle is also used by the employee outside working hours, the privacy button can be switched on.
